Statistical Models
Data generated from bioassays can be analysed using a variety of different analysis methods, using different types of Software packages. The most common forms of analysis are parallel logistic analysis where 4 or 5 parameter sigmoidal curves are measured or parallel line analysis where a number of points within the active dose response range are measured.
Particular consideration should also be given to a common feature of bioassays; regardless of the statistical model used, the precision of measurements can vary, in a reproducible manner, over the different sample concentrations that are used. Where the data are more variable we are less confident of the true underlying value and it is reasonable to assign less weight to these points (EP5.3.).
The ultimate selection of the analysis method should be based upon the performance of the bioassay giving consideration to the accuracy and precision of the data that is generated. BioOutsource can evaluate your assay to select the optimum method of analysis and assign the correct weightings, assuring the selection of an accurate and precise method, with the highest possible assay success rate.
